We provide you with beautiful lakeside
camping surrounded by acres of wilderness! A perfect stop-off point
between New York City and Niagara Falls. A great camping base for
day visits to Cooperstown's Baseball Hall of Fame; Corning Glass Center to
see Stueben Crystal being made: Binghamton and its 6 turn-of -the -century
carousels (free rides); Scranton with its Lackawana Coal Mine tours and
the live railroading exhibition at Steamtown USA.
Lakeside is centrally located as a meeting place for distant friends,
family and groups to get together. Our 84 foot pavilion, with its
own kitchen, is a great place for a day picnic, family reunion, reception, or birthday
party.
PRIVATE LAKE
Although most people think
of New York as a state full of skyscrapers and subways, in the heart of
the state is the bustling, charming city of Binghamton, the gateway to
upstate New York. Nearby, in the middle of this natural beauty,
you'll find the perfect place to enjoy it all at Lakeside Campground.
You can tent camp in wooded sites along the lake or deep in the
woods. With 20/30/50 amp service and large pull-thru sites, the
largest of camping units will feel at home on or off the lake. We
have the highest ratings in the area from Trailer Life and Woodals and are
the only campground approved by AAA.
We also rent cabins and trailers. The cabins, which sleep four
people, are set in the woods and come with electric. Water is
outside along with a picnic table and fire ring. The trailers, which
sleep from four to six people, have kitchens and bathrooms. And now we
have added two new cabins which have kitchens and bathrooms.
A variety of activities await you at Lakeside. Swim in our own four
acre lake or rent a peddle boat, canoe or rowboat for a tour of the
lake. For the kids and young adults rent time on the Iceberg, an 8 foot climbing wall in the lake. Bass, bluegill, pickerel and bullhead will taunt the fisherman
in you. Up the tempo a bit and you can play tennis or basketball on our
sports court. Horseshoes, volleyball and badminton also await you.
Into hiking or biking? Two miles away is Hawkins pond, a county
nature preserve, which has 3 levels of hiking trails. The back roads around the campground
will let you cycle through some beautiful rolling hills and farmland.
For children, from little tykes to teens, there are a number of activities
to keep them entertained. The swimming area is sanded and slopes
gently so that little children can play or swim in comfort or play with
the Little Tykes toys which boarder the beach. The older ones can sharpen
their skills at the pool table, practice their hoop and net skills on the
sports court or play a little softball on the sports field. And then
we have a mini-train with free rides around the lake for the little ones.
